Redbull just posted a video of their new Half-Mile Straight Rhythm
project. Their hope is to give a much needed innovative change to our beloved sport of Supercross. What do you think??
Redbull- "This is not something that will take away or compete with Supercross, instead it should compliment it and be enough of a departure from the original supercross formula that this new format of racing will yield a whole crop of new winning faces.
Simply put we took the first true Supercross video game " Excitebike" and brought it to life by building a 1/2 mile Supercross track in the hills of Southern California. What's so different about that you say? Well like the game, it has no turns. It is completely straight, hence the name " Straight Rhythm". We went out with the mission to eliminate the boring aspects (the turns) from Supercross, similar to removing the gutter balls from bowling if you will. What we were left with was a concentrated version of Supercross, all jumps and imagination, leaving the fastest guy's in the world to figure out from there.
This new layout and format of head to head match racing is something that has never truly been seen and should challenge these top athletes both physically and especially mentally, where one mistake could cost you the race. "
