It doesn’t get much better than this! We get to build cool bikes that benefit a great cause. This café racer will go through life knowing it helped kids carve bowls, grind rails, ollie curbs, and ride the vert… what a satisfying life! Introducing our second Triumph for the Tony Hawk Foundation and the Stand Up for Skateparks charity.

The stock Triumph Thruxton already has a great café style, we just helped it along with a few key notes. The wheels were disassembled, coated in a vintage red by Olympic Powder Coating then re-laced and trued by Dubya USA. Once back at the RSD compound, we had them hand pinstriped by Tom Clark, our favorite sign painter. We bolted them up and connected the rear with a Renthal chainwheel, British Customs countershaft sprocket and a D.I.D chain. Finned front sprocket cover and generator cover from Speed Merchant. The front wheel was replaced with a 17-inch rim so we could wrap both front and rear with sticky Dunlop Q2 Qualifier tires. Front fork spring kit and 970 series reservoir shocks were supplied by Progressive Suspension. Chris Wood ofAirtrix took care of the two-tone red paint job featuring the newest Hawk logo on the tank and some lettering and pinstriped panels on the tank. We wanted something special for the exhaust so we sent the bike to FMF, where Little D enticed his best guys to do a beautiful one-off, low-slung, 2-into-2 Titanium exhaust system. We love that they used their patented Power Bombs in the header down tubes. These are sure to sing the sweetest of songs to the pilot of this machine. British Customs hooked us up with an airbox removal kit with K&N filters and a bunch of other trick bits like, adjustable Pazzo levers, Norman Hyde steering damper, Joker Machine carb caps and clutch cable bracket. The stock seat was reshaped to create a nice café tail section and wrapped in leather by Mauricio Aguilar of Azteca Customs. RSD donated the grips, pegs, gas cap, tag bracket, custom rear grab bar and the overall design and flavor of the bike.

We can only hope that the youth of today will be ripping the skate parks while dreaming of carving the canyons on the freedom of a motorcycle. Once again we can’t thank Triumph and the Hawk foundation enough for letting us be a part of this incredible project.

Bike will be auctioned off this Saturday November 5th, 2011 at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, NV. All proceeds to benefit the Tony Hawk Foundation and Stand Up for Skateparks charity.

Hawk event number two in Vegas is quickly approaching and we are thrashing to get the Hawkized Triumph Thruxton finished. Just did the design grind all day and sent these renderings off so we’ll see which one makes the Hawk smile. This is another build using some of the best Triumph components we could find coupled with a bunch of simple custom pieces we’re building here in the shop. We are keeping it simple enough to stay 100% legal and fully functional while lightening and cleaning her up from head to toe. Clip Ons for the Thruxton are a must and our RSD 41mm clip on’s (in stock now) are a direct bolt on. Well do RSD grips, gas cap and tag bracket as well. Custom shaped and recovered vintage style seat is on the way. Minimized turn signals, Custom Paint by Airtrix, Progressive suspension front to back, British Customs Airbox eliminator, K and N filters, Triumph specialty parts, Dunlop and lot’s of other great companies are helping out.
