RSD

When building a motorcycle we always have our eyes and ears open looking for influences. One thing that has always inspired us are Stanley Kubrick films. His attention to detail and cinematography are unmatched as far as we are concerned. One might look at this bike as one of his films, every detail has been meticulously thought out and executed to create a visual assault on the senses. Keep it simple and use your finishes to make the bike flow. This is our first introduction of brass into our parts line which brings about the name “Full Metal Jacket.” A full metal jacket is a bullet encased in a copper alloy such as gilding metal, or cupronickel, or a steel alloy shell. The jacket allows for higher muzzle velocities. With that in mind we have added brass into our parts line to further enhance our already state of the art finishes.

Enjoy

I’m digging the new parts, especially the brass. When will the 2011 catalog be available?

On the Café Sportster (#99), we actually powdercoated the stock tank, fender, side panels and lower fork legs. The color is called Matte Bronze and work was done by Olympic Powdercoating in Santa Ana, CA. Black is just a standard gloss black.

Unfortunately this will not fit on a Dyna. The Vintage gas tank kit, fender kit and seat kit are designed to fit Softails only.

hey, in the 7th photo, it shows the brake lever, can you tell me what lever is being used? I’m looking for a PM lever to replace my standard levers on my wide glide. If possible, can you provide the product number. Also, can I just purchase the lever, not the brake master cylinder. Thanks.

When will the ribbed t-bar’s be available and will they be available in flat black? And what are the specs? Width, pullback, are they similar to the flat out drag bars as far as this goes? Why do you guys stay away from dyna’s when it comes to custom tanks and exhaust?

You are the first to ask for them. Most of our other bars are available in chrome and GLOSS black. Ribbed Bobber and Ribbed T-bars come in chrome only, at this time. None are available in flat black. We recommend that you buy the chrome ones and have them powdercoated flat black because we will probably not offer them this way. Ribbed T-bar dimensions: Height: 6”, Width: 27”, Pullback: 4”. In the past, Dyna’s have not been as popular as Softails, when it comes to custom building. If you notice, most aftermarket frames are based on Softail design, for this same reason. We are working to design and release some more Dyna-specific parts in the future. Stay tuned

LOVE THE BIKE… absolutely wicked! I WANT! the gas tank cap and the Air cleaner/filter unit are a must have. I suppose they would fit a Fat Boy O8?

Right on! Our gas caps fit ALL Softails, Dynas and Sportsters from late 1996-2011. And, yes we have air cleaners to fit basically all Harley models from 1993-2011. Contact your local dealer or email info@rolandsands.com for part numbers and pricing.

Are the tripple trees stock?

NO. These are discontinued PM triple clamps. They did not sell well enough to continue production but we like them, so we kept a few sets.

hese are PM mid controls and are compatible only with PM’s primary belt drive. They will not work on a Sportster. Although, there are a couple of companies that make “rearsets” for Sportys that offer a great foot position. Check out Storz Performance and Sato.

In one of the pics it looks like the passenger foot-pegs are still on the bike, Can you retain a passenger seat with the pipe? The rear tire looks to be narrow. Did this build start out as a soft-tail Blackine? If not, what was your starting point? - thx.

We sell a passenger peg relocation kit to allow pegs to be used with our Tracker 2-into-1 pipe. This bike started off life as a 2007 FXST and has a 180 rear tire installed on an RSD 18x5.5" wheel.

What about the paint and color question asked previously? I didn't see a reply.

Paint is actually powdercoat! We did this to show the quality of our sheet metal parts. No bondo required to get a smooth finish on our tanks or fenders. Color is called "Charcoal T" and it has a slightly textured finish.

I really want to put these bars on my '11 street bob (with fat bob triple tree) but want internal wiring. What are my options?
Avatar
rolandadmin says:

Only way to internally wire these bars would be to drill a hole in the bars, above the lower ribs or, drill a hole down the center of your mounting bolts.
