RSD KTM 690 Tracker
At the close of every one of our builds, comes the time to prove it out and make sure it works as designed. In this case, we built a flat tracker so, we had to confirm its dirt-worthiness.

RSD KTM 690 Tracker
We loaded up the van and headed to Perris Raceway in beautifull Perris, CA., where we met up with Brendan Lutes Transworld Motocross magazine to shoot the bike for their upcoming issue. Jimmy Wood from Race Tech let us share some track time with a couple of his professional AMA pro flat track racers; Mikey Rush and Kayl Kolkman. They were out testing and making final adjustments before the Daytone GNC race in Florida. KTM's Aaron Colton is always down to cut skids too so he came out and had a good time with us. Jimmy really helped get the suspension dialed on our KTM 690 and, next thing you know, Roland was sliding her around the track with confidence. This bike will be delivered to our customer and probably never see dirt again but, we're proud to say that is was built to slide and does it quite well.
RSD KTM 690 Tracker
The devil is in the details. Here you can see the small things that really set a bike apart, such as: shortened shock reservoir by Race Tech, Raptor titanium foot pegs and billet aluminum brake pedal tip and shifter tip by Hammerhead Designs.  Sport Chrome handled all of the polishing and black anodizing for this build. They always do a top notch job for us and parts come back polished to perfection and packaged nicely to prevent damage while in transit.

RSD KTM 690 Tracker
There’s something about the 690 KTM that makes you want to do bad things. It’s a great street able single that’s got enough torque to put a smile on your face while tame enough to inspire confidence when pushing towards the edge. While our newest version of the 690 is a street bike, it’s got a whole lotta dirt under it’s nails. We let the stock frame inspire new lightweight airfoil tubing swingarm and subframe. The sheet metal is all hand formed aluminum and draws from traditional dirt track machines while bringing a little motocross influence into the mix. Our newest lightweight Contrast Ops Del Mar wheels are shod in Goodyear Flat track rubber and are stopped by PM brakes front and rear. One Off Hand built exhaust breathes through our Slant exhaust tip. Engine mods, paint powder coating and detailing to come. Stay tuned.

The KTM Café was feeling lonely so we hatched another spawn. This is the dirty brother, the KTM Tracker. A street tracker version of the KTM 690. Lightweight, fast, nimble, agile and above all else, built for good times. We'd like your opinion on paint. A, B or C?

C, es totalmente vuestro estilo. Ademas la B es la conjugacion de color del ford f40 y no hay ninguna semejanza entre una super motar cafe y ese coche...

A - all the way. Proper KTM colors. I too love the vintage Gulf Oil scheme, but it has no connection to Austria, no? Or even Long Beach!

I say B. only put the number on the tank & a KTM or roland sands logo on the radiator shroud. Really want to see this bike completed, i have a 690 and love it as is so this could be interesting. I like the concept thus far!

Sitting here in Sydney Australia , with my 2010 690R Duke , I have always wanted to trick it up alittle. Roland your work on the 690s is just great. Inspiring stuff. Only 24 of the "690 R Dukes" came to Aust. None I am told went to the US that year. They are such a great bike to ride, and lend themselves to some creative flair. Such as yours. Colour wise for your project bike....B, with a hint of the bare metal on the tank.

Got to say... Stick with the flat bare metal or paint job C. The rear swing-arm is just sick. Ever think about maybe swapping the bars for clip-on's and giving a more street-fighter/cafe look? I'm just curios about what that might look like with this setup. BTW, BIG KTM fan!!

May be there was no intention to create something beautiful. Then you have done a good job. The only good is eventually the paint job. But the bike ... ugly.
